Electronics parts near Keller/Grapevine/Southlake/North Fort Worth

Does anyone know of any halfway decent electronics parts stores somewhere in the vicinity of Keller/Grapevine/Southlake/North Fort Worth? There used to be one in Irving, but I think they moved out to Arlington. I’m looking for something that is a bit closer than Tanner’s, if such a thing exists.

Thanks!

Jesse

I would love to find something similar to Tanner’s in the Arlington area, as that is where I work, though living in Carrollton, Tanner’s is usually an option to stop at in the morning but sometimes I need a random part and do not feel like driving back to Tanner’s. That being said, I am assuming you know about Allied, and that you can place your order online and pick it up from there warehouse in Fort Worth.

Tony

I didn’t know about Allied. Thanks for the info!

Well I hope it is helpful, as it is not a place that you can just go in and browse, but they do have very large selection of parts available through their website. If you have not found it yet, their website is http://www.alliedelec.com/

You do know that Mouser has Will-Call right?

Yep, I have purchased from them too, but didn’t mention them since they are in Mansfield. Can we turn this thread into a general electronics supply list for the the DFW area? I am guessing that such a list probably exist somewhere already…
Anyone ever use BG Micro? They are in Garland, but I think they are mail order only, though I have not asked if they have a will-call, as the last time I purchased from them was before I moved to the Dallas area.

Im 99.9% positive I just made your top post a wiki post. that way anyone can edit and add to the top post, now you can turn it into a list of local resources

Fry’s Electronics has a small selection of electronics parts. Fry’s has more parts on the shelf than Radio Shack has had in years… But I always go to Tanner’s Electronics next to the DMS.

Another place to check out would be the Altex in Carrollton, as they have a decent parts selection. The one in Arlington has some basics, more along the lines of Radio Shack, but not near as much as the Carrollton location.

I have used BGMicro, but it has been several years. They are in downtown Garland, and I used to drive out there to pay and pick up stuff.

There wasn’t anything to browse, I just had to call in my order based on the catalog.

Microcenter also has a small parts selection. It is mostly Arduino, BBB, and RPi boards, but there are some other kits and components around.

I have also used BGMicro. Never been to the store, but tbe sure to buy a few things to offset shipping if you don;t want to pick it up.

Anyone have a spot in Plano near Fry’s and 75?

Does the Future Electronics location in Richardson stock parts, or are they simply a sales office? Although, it does look like they have a $10 minimum per line item.

They (Altex) don’t have semiconductor stock, but do have a good assortment of caps, connectors, and resistors along with switches.

I bought all their semiconductor stock years ago.
