Ebay hints, advice, consigner wanted

I’m consolidating and have a lot of stuff I don’t want to throw out, which I think could be worth selling on ebay or other ‘for sale’ site such as craigslist, Offer Up or FB Marketplace.

Most of the stuff is computer or electronics, such as:

  • docking stations with power supplies and stands (Dell, HP, Lenovo)
  • surplus electronic components (connectors, ICs)
  • lots of old IC data books
  • old electronic test equipment

I’m thinking that ebay is the only reasonable for niche items such as surplus electronic components, IC data books, and old test equipment.

For ebay selling, what’s your take on the following?

  • no shipping, local pickup only (for heavy, older equipment, where shipping cost is excessive)
  • do books or other items qualify for special postal rates (media)
  • what’s the most cost-effective and reliable shipping method

Ideally, I’d like to find someone who would take these items on consignment and handle all of the sales posting, shipping, and returns. I would initially propose a 50/50 split after expenses.

All ideas welcome. PM me if you’re interested in taking things on consignment - please
