The torch is not traveling correctly along the Y axis. It seems to struggle to travel along this route when brought into the home position. Had several successful cuts prior to this. Checked the rails and found no obstruction. Just seems to be sticking about midway through on the Y axis.
I did not check talk before coming in today to use the CNC plasma. Anyway here are more details.
The Y axis appears to be getting stuck between 2 points. I moved the axis in the postitive direction and which appears to have changed the lower stuck point. My guess is there is some obstruction but not a visible one. It may require some disassembly in order to clean it out.
There is a metal shop committee meeting at 3pm on the 7th.
Restart the software and home the machine
Sorry, I just saw that Tony commented. The machine probably needs to be greased. Most likely after the meeting next Saturday
Yes, that makes sense. The travel of the touch on the y axis was indeed sticky. I looked for an obstruction on the belt and rail but found nothing. Thank you Max!!
Did you find something after the meeting? There is a red cone on it.
Yes, one of the trucks has failed. It will be replaced when available.
The lower truck for the linear rail was toast. The ball chain was missing the components in them.
We ordered the new ones yesterday evening. The plan is to replace all 3 & have 1 as a spare.
Thank you Tim!!
It’s not just me.
@welol @procterc @pattern123 @Mrholthaus and a couple others.
Indeed, I am incredibly thankful for everyone involved.
