I was notified by a City of Carrollton employee that dumpsters need to remain closed. Saturday, it was left open a number of times after I had closed it. Just be aware of it and close it if you see it opened. It’s probably a good idea to stay in the good graces of the city.
My first thought was that seemed like a strange statement from a City employee, considering that according to the city website at: http://cityofcarrollton.com/index.aspx?page=40
“The City of Carrollton does not provide trash or recycling collection services to commercial customers.”
I wondered if there is an actual law, or if he was just an overly zealous bureaucrat, so I did a little research and found that there is a law:
Title 5, Chapter 50 Solid Waste and Recycling of the Carrollton Code of Ordinances
Sec. 50.40. Doors and lids of commercial containers to be kept shut.
All doors and lids of commercial containers shall be kept closed unless the container is being loaded.

So, lets keep the lids closed except when loading trash.
It’s a city code most likely and yes the city lets you know. Dealt with it
several times.
It also needs to be dumped. When I took out the garbage on Monday night, it was packed to the gills. What’s the pickup schedule?
I think the dumpster normally gets emptied on Thursday (morning?). If it is full, please send an email to [email protected]
Dumpster is emptied on Thursdays. I can schedule a one-time pickup, but it costs extra.
Part of it may be that I think on Thursday morning last week a few cars could have been blocking it. I cannot remember for sure.
That is very likely, as the dumpster was surrounded by cars on monday.
Nah, it got emptied on March 19. There was one car that was parked next to the ramp, and the truck driver didn’t have any problems… but if multiple cars are parked in that area, it could be an issue.
