Does the shop have a dowel jig. I really need to use one. I spent too much time making one, which worked for the first few holes, but got the second half of the holes very wrong. A couple of people told me that there is one, but they just don’t know where to find it.
The lathes are (very inefficient) dowel making machines. But doable with the right set of skills.
I suspect the OP is asking for something like this that helps you align the holes to where the dowel is supposed to go.

Those dowel cutter plates are pretty neat and come in handy though. I might just order one lol.

Try the Domino for doweling!
I used it ages ago and even though will never buy anything from Festool, it is a fantastic tool to have access to.
