Don't Bother...▫

If you want a PDF editor for your desktop machine that isn’t Adobe and is free (for the time being, I guess?) then:

I’ve downloaded and will be checking it out…There may be ads or nagware or “trial” consideration…I’ll update if so. But anyway, feel free to download and kick the tires and use at your own risk.

[edit: removing link. My bad… it appears to mostly be a vector for advert delivery, with some basic functionality better found elsewhere. Sorry for the distraction… :eye: :tornado: ]

Marshall, have you already tried foxit’s product line? That have been around for over a decade as an alternate provider to Adobe. I trust them a lot more than some new software that MSRPs for $400 but doesn’t. Also, I have used PDFCreator for years (prior to having an Adobe CC license) - and it is great when you want a clean PDF/A PDFCreator download | SourceForge.net

I am sure I did :–) I went through a “phase” where I tried them all when I had more of a need for working with PDFs. Kinda like the summer I spent working on my music…

In fact, my take-away from that is how there could be so many products charging for what seems to be a boilerplate/stock set of functionality and features based on an open/public specs. lolol…

I think I finally purchased the “lite” version of PDF-Xchange, but never renewed license.

Anyhoo…I am completely open to alt suggestions on this, and certainly to anyone with more expertise. The fact that this seemed to be "blessed by powers that be at Microsoft tipped me to the point of posting here…I hope these folks are not some fly by night outfit :–(

Do you know what the in app purchases are?

I downloaded it. There are a lot of ads, seems like mostly for phone games.

Not yet…I can only guess there is opportunity to upgrade or get “cloud backup”: or similar dumbness all things seem to offer nowadays and that MS therefore stamps,or requires vendors to stamp, their offerings with this tag.
