Any ideas on how I might fix this doll’s leg for my disappointed little granddaughter?
Just brainstorming here … is there a way to 3D print an insert for the hip that would somehow have a slot or socket for the cross-shaped hip “hinge”?
Honestly, I would have no idea how to do that. But if anyone knows how, I welcome the help-& will even pay them to fix (I actually have 2 broken dolls)…
Does it have to move? If not, then superglue!
Then add a cast by wrapping medical tape around the leg.
When your granddaughter asks why she can’t move her leg, tell her that when the right man comes along . . . .
Or try 3D printing something like this with the right dimensions:
Slip it over the white peg and superglue that plate into the socket. It’s a circle with a rectangular hole in the middle that has a slot connecting the center to the edge so you can get the peg into the middle.
If possible, we would like for it to move, yes. But I like the cast idea-thats cute, thanks.
I’d put an screw eyebolt into the top of each leg and thread a loop of elastic through the hip openings and through each eye. Stretch, tie off, and let the legs pop into place.
Two part epoxy putty (Kneaditite/Green Stuff or Milliput) could be used to reinforce any areas if needed.
Thank you!!
An 1/8" elastic cord would work if you can attach it to the inside of the doll, perhaps the other leg. Slip it around that, then loop in a figure 8 around this leg’s T connector, tighten and trim.
Uhh, echoing Mike above, lol
Thanks-I had not thought about trying to string her legs… won’t hurt to try…
If the elastic ends up a little loose, windmilling one leg around and around might take up some slack.
Plus, That’s a cool martial arts doll trick
More like professional wrestling… spinning toe hold…
You should go full-on Borg. Give her a bionic 3D printed titanium leg with toe claws, and may be even a plug in the head/torso. There is so much room for open creativity here…it will assimilate you, resistance is futile.
Just what every little girl wants. A Borg doll.

We had a “creepy doll” contest for Halloween back at Ladybird in October 2013. Someone brought in a box of old dolls for folks to repurpose. It was a lot of fun.
Here’s my submission. I’m sorry that I don’t have a “before” pic.
In the second picture, you can see she’s holding a tiny copy of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.”
Weirdly, a friend of mine loved the doll, so I gave it to her and I no longer have it.
