Looking to find out if I need to take a basics course on the vinyl cutter before I’m allowed to use it.
And if so, who to talk to about getting trained?
I haven’t seen anything for it on the calendar.

I found it by searching By Tool at the top of the list of events. That is VERY handy when looking for a class for a specific tool.

That will make things Much simpler.
On that note, the Silhouette Cameo does not require training. The ‘Studio’ software is fairly straight forward to use. Only limit is the cutting mat size, but it is great for small projects.
