Does DMS have a 35mm slide scanner available?

Does DMS have a 35mm slide scanner available? I’m interested in an event for scanning 35mm slides. The original event description for photography film scanning event in June of 2025 mentioned something about a slide scanning event “later on.” (https://calendar.dallasmakerspace.org/events/view/25034) Any plans or interest for such an event? Thanks!

I’m not familiar with that event, but there is a copy stand setup for using a digital camera & macro lens to scan film. There was discussion at the photography SIG today about dedicating some more effort towards this, as currently (I think) we don’t have a suitable lens.

We also have an epson v600 in digital media that has the slide tray frame for scanning. When you use the tray it automatically crops the individual frames for you, its very handy.

I have a slidesnap film scanner that’s crazy fast if someone wanted to use it. It’s good for scanning a large amount of slides. I bought it to scan about 2,000 slides and was done in about 10 hours. I might sell it in a month or two so let me know if anybody wants to use it!

Thanks for your input. I’m interested in trying both options, I have lots of slides I inherited, and need to find a good solution for digitizing them. Thanks!

If possible let me know once youre ready to sell it I’d be interested

Tbh it ain’t cheap, but it’s an excellent product. But it has everything you need: the scanner, a camera, memory cards, batteries, a little accessory scanner for strip film. It’s not the new model, it’s from like 2014 but damn does it work wonders! It doesn’t have instructions but I can set it up and show you how to use it if you’d like. I bought it used through slidesnap for 1k, I’m gonna sell it for 1k. If you or anybody are still interested text me at 907-343-9667
