Does anyone teach soap or candle making at the space?

I’m interested in a class to make candles, soap or both.

There is a soap making class scheduled later in the month.

What type of candles are you interested in poured or dip or rolled

I’m interested in poured! (Yeah I know that nobody asked me.) :sunglasses:

I can do simple poured candles, Is the interest in ones that are poured
into a container of inot a mold or other item so they will be free standing

I dont t hae holds, I often used things like yogurt containers

I would need to see what we have in supplies, I have some supplies at home

I’m interested in molds like approximately 1.5" diameter x 9" pullout candles and shape molds… Even tea lights. I see conflicting info in the web and the reality is there is a lot of crap online. There seems to be a lot of ways to get things out of molds. Information from a live human always sticks better and let’s you ask dumb questions. Add in info on the different kinds of wax in my fantasy class. There are so many different soy waxes alone then if you want to add in colors, hers, and scents. Oh! And wicks! Oh my!

@coloneldan has done great classes on candlemaking in the past, covering techniques, waxes, wicks, etc. He even did a class on how to recycle old partially used candles! Maybe he can be convinced to do more if there’s enough interest

I’ve taught several candle making classes. I’d be happy to teach another if there are enough people interested. I have quite a few molds, too. If you have old candles we can recycle these, too.

There are several kinds of candle making materials including, bees wax, the oldest medium and still a wonderful candle making material, paraffin, the most common material, soy, the most friendly to the environment material, palm wax, a nice alternative to soy, and various blends of these.

Then there are additives and fragrances. Lastly, there are techniques which make candle making a diverse hobby. I’ve been doing it off an on for many years.

Please let me know if you’re interested in taking a class and I’ll work on scheduling a class.

I plan to teach a stained glass class or two also as soon as we figure out what equipment we need.

I am interested in the candle and soap making classes. Really interested in the stained glass class!

I’ll plan on scheduling a candle making class in a couple of weeks. I’m travelling out of town beginning this Sunday for a week or so. Is Wednesday a good day or would another work better? I’m thinking about a 7:00PM class if this works. I’ve taught candle making in CA and in the open area next to Fired Arts. Both will work, but I prefer CA.

I’ll bring all of my candle “stuff” and inventory what we have in CA before the class.

I will attend. Can I bring scented oils to blend?
