Do we have a motorcycle chain breaker tool?

I need to replace the chain on a motorcycle and before I head out to buy the tool, do we have one at DMS?

Something like this?

I don’t think we have a chain breaker

If you are replacing the chain with a new one, just cut the old one off with a abrasive cut off wheel. I’ve done it that way for years with no issue and no need to buy or borrow a special tool.

Also, if you are replacing your cogs, you should use a new chain. A used chain will cause accelerated wear to new cogs.

Cogs/Sprockets are good. Chain is just stretched out and rusty. Good tip though, thanks.

Don’t you need the chain tool to put on the new chain?

No. A new chain will come with some version of a master link that is held on with a c-clip. Others have special nuts that thread onto the master link pins that flatten them out the you break the nut off.imageimage

Ah, yes, the master link. I almost forgot! In the old days we did not have those but now that is the only way to go with cycling chains.
