And if we do, does anyone know how big it is and more importantly, how deep will it draw (i.e., how tall can parts be)?
Thanks!!

We do have a vacuformer. I don’t know the answers to the rest of your questions, but it might be listed on the Wiki. It’s a class -required machine. If you’re in the Space, as you walk in from the front by Science, it’s close to dead ahead in the midst of the shelves there. It’s white…
Beth is exactly right.
It is listed on the tools wiki.
Here is the direct link to the vacuum former page.
The spec sheet lists the draw depth (7.3") Be prepared for some experimentation. In my limited experience for a deep draw you have to watch the size to depth ratio so it doesn’t pull all the way through.
Great! I saw it but didn’t think that was a functioning machine.
it’s functioning, though sometimes the power and air line were swapped for something else so check the connections.

On the contrary, the vacuum former has no power drop of it’s own… Air is on a shared block with the machine shop. People steal the power from the machine shop specifically the cold saw.
If you do that, don’t be surprised when someone unplugs you in mid vacuum. The shop has priority unless you’ve made prior arrangements.
all will be fixed when we move. The former is moving to the new plastics section and will have it’s own dedicated power and air.
To clarify, I wasn’t implying it was a dedicated line, just that the cables appear to be going somewhere but are often left back despite not being plugged in.
We’re all short on power.
