What, exactly, is FBCTF?
You don’t define it in the post, I had to chase down the link to github to find it. You might get better response to stuff if you don’t use acronyms for everything…

@denzuko … Is the community grid documented on the wiki?
When I search for it I get this … Community Grid Meshnet - Dallas Makerspace
R&D of the grid nodes R&D of node provider client software Deployment of the greater community grid mesh backbone across the DFW area where viable Recruitment of relay node and exit node providers via various strategies and intensive programs Manage Governance oversight over the community grid as a whole And because this is one a VCC and Civic hacking kind of thing; Work with city officials and Education Centers to provide access to the community, students, and those of special needs.
Is it public facing or just available for members inside the space?
In other words, can anyone using it make a publicly facing web page or service on a Dallas Makerspace domain?
I would like to see documentation on this and the monitoring system on the wiki.
Some people have expressed interest in it but I have no idea where to point them.
Here it is, the wiki articles: Category:Community Grid - Dallas Makerspace
Been build up the content for a while and the best place for that is on talk.
After all one cannot gauge impact or interest from a wiki page and the biggest message we have for our membership is to use talk and chat.
Stan, sure I have propensity towards acronyms but that’s exactly what they called it and the gif demoed it.
In either case I’ve added a short blurp to the article. But in the brief. Its just a web app for team or solo based challenges and organizing coding challenges, hack-a-thons, or Capture The Flag events.
Now I do feel like I need to make sure we’re clear on the whole point of things:
In our case FBCTF going to host the code challenges and help with the hackathons. And by hackathons I don’t mean red teaming stuff. I mean groups competing to make something amazing in a short time with a stand up presentation and demo of the result at the end of the event.
Capture the flag events well that’s on the usual air gap lab systems with strict monitoring. If and that’s a big if FBCTF was used then that’s a pre deployment to the air gap vm which is only onsite doing the event.
Coding Challenges well that’s something we’re lacking. Moodle and talk is the worst place for that so too is google and GitHub classrooms. We need something that can support teams and preform the judging/validations without direct hands on evaluations.
Plus ultimately the article is intended as a demo to show what can be done with Docker and especially with regards to a php app backed by mysql and memcache. (ie the bulk of our internal applications).
You have linked to a category page. Where in all of this does it list the answers to my original questions?
Also, talk links rarely contribute much to the wiki when they are just listed in a block of links with no reference.
Also …
IP Addresses? SSH Login information? What resources it is using? AWS? External Ports? Any AD group requirements? Administration pages?
One page mentions non-member donation users… how does that work?
Also, for the monitoring server …
Basically, in general, if you are not available, we should have enough documentation on the wikis to admin and use it.
