Digital Media Sony Camera now BYO-mediacard, and lock issue

DMS members,

Digital Media has experienced some shrinkage that is affecting the committee toolset.

The shrinkage included 2 media cards and a USB 3.0 hub. This may have been some oversight/mistake and the property would be welcomed back if found back in the camera locker. FYI: Multiple video projects were lost via the card shrinkage.

Going forward, please bring your own media card for Sony RX10 camera usage.
This is in following the model of other committees where members bring their own materials to work with the DMS toolset.

A media card capable of 50Mb/sec should cover the highest requirements(as write speeds are generally the lesser advertised), but it is suggested to use as high a speed as you wish for the camera to perform.

Some Specs for Sony RX10:
Compatible Recording Media
Memory Stick™ Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo™, Memory Stick PRO Duo™ (high speed), Memory Stick PRO HG Duo™, Memory Stick Micro*, Memory Stick Micro (mark 2), Memory Stick XC-HG Duo,SD Memory Card, SDHC Memory Card, SDXC Memory Card, microSD Memory Card, microSDHC Memory Card*, microSDXC Memory Card*
(Others have been known to work, but the highest chance of problem free usage comes from selections in the list)

Movie Recording Mode
(NTSC)AVCHD (up to 1,920 x 1,080, 60p/50p at 28Mbps) / MP4 (up to 1,440 x 1,080, 30 fps/25fps at 12Mbps)

It has also come to light that the lock for the camera locker is no longer reasonably secure.
All of the locks will be replaced. When the replacement occurs, the new access information will be provided in-person on request from members that are already familiar with the camera or have already taken the camera course(IE Mitch Cerroni’s class).
Multiple committee members will have the new access info when the locks are replaced.

Reach out to me and/or Mark Havens in the studio if you have items requiring more discussion. I will work on spending more time in the forums, but if you don’t get a response there, please seek a response in person.

Nicely stated Jay,
I hope we have the card returned in a timely manner to help with the lost projects.
