Digital media lab for music?

Hi all! Mel here, I signed up yesterday.

What are your brain thoughts on setting up for recording music?

Among the equipment I see mics, cords, stands, a digital audio converter, headphones.

I hear ambient noise, so time of day or night might be integral.

I hear some reverb as well.

I think I can work with this. What do you guys think?

with the proper small setup you can make your recordings darn near anywhere. Unless you play something like… oh drums for instance that take a lot of space and have harder volume controls. I would be happy to lend a hand I’ve been recording for a good long time and built many a small studio.

That sounds fantastic!!

I haven’t explored to see what programs we have access to, but I don’t think I need anything too fancy to do what I’m doing. Mixing and mastering will be outsourced on this particular project.

I’d love to learn what I can from you and try to figure out how I can compile this knowledge into something shareable with the community when all’s said and done.

Are you up at the space much?

off and on, usually mid day ish on week days. but I can make a special trip be it morning, evening or weekend to chat.
