Marius Hornberger designed and built an admittedly overengineered spindle sander. Watching the design process, the clever use of a mix of off the shelf, machined, and 3D printed parts is fascinating.
I also like how he shared the fails and design changes made along the way.
At over 80 minutes, it’s a long build video, but worth the watch. Lots of useful tips on designing for wear, strength where needed, tradeoffs, etc.
