Are their depth gauges similar to the pictures for the router table? I looked through the drawers and didn’t see them unless they’re in a box in a box somewhere. My fallback would be a caliper but think the bar-style gauges are more accurate for the router table (fyi, the one in the router table toolbox is broken).
We do know own a set that I know of. You could make your own using the laser cutters if you don’t want to purchase a set.
Something like the would be a personal tool. Sounds like a great Laser project.
Or 3D printing. I just found about a dozen various height measurement tools on Thingverse including a set like the black ones shown above. I’ll print off a set or two.
As long as you remember to measure and account for laser kerf.

@mysticturner , I wouldn’t bother if this is still on your list. I just don’t think they’ll be accurate enough out of a 3d printer. I tried one out of ABS on a Bambu and it’s close but not quite (and that’s setting aside ABS is a moisture-absorbing plastic). I don’t even want to think about making one on a resin printer as I have no doubt I’d use it once and then realize it broke while sitting in my pocket or getting dropped.
I think they’d need to be aluminum on the nomad or something more accurate in the machine shop.
It’s on my todo list.

OK. If your wanting machine shop accuracy then metal would be better. You raise a good point on the smoothness and accuracy of plastics. I’m not sure what the expansion rate on PLA is but they could be made a bit thin and sanded to a 64th, more than good enough for wood. If I do make a set for the woodshop, I’ll be sure to verify the results.

I was just about to buy some aluminum plate and cut one out on the nomad.
That was an awesome donation.
It will get added to the router table when Eve @evebutterly returns from work assignment. She has ownership of the router table.

They work quite well for tablesaw depth too.
I didn’t wait for an aluminum version (took me awhile to get to learning the Nomad) and used a printed out ABS version for my picture frame. It worked out pretty well considering it was my first attempt at dovetails and keys. The gaps are significantly larger than anyone who knows what they’re doing would find acceptable and I probably should have done two keys on each corner…and used better wood…and used a better jig, but I’m happy with it.
I suspect I’m still going to cut one out on the Nomad as that was going to be my first step into thicker aluminum CNC’ing even though I already made what I wanted the tool for. ![]()
