More likely caused by running “Reclaimed” wood through it with embedded sand and dirt.
They’re some mighty deep grooves that go the length of the table, it looks to have been some nails or screws cause if you run your finger nail over it it’ll actually get caught in the grove it’s so deep
Those have been there awhile
