Decapping IC's in Science

calling on any members with potentially interesting chips and or MEMS devices that they are willing to donate to Science so we can decap them and learn/investigate/reverse-Engineer

What types of chips are you looking for? How old?

Not being sure what you’re asking for the title has a morbid curiousity feel to it

Interested in an AVR ATtiny13?

sure please @william_petefish any thoughts on good candidates?

What kind of MEMS devices are you looking for?

anything would be cool we will try whatever you want

I have an old Digital Micromirror device (and I’m guessing I’m not the only one who has these). Of course once you de-cap it, it’s going to let out all the smoke and then it will be just mirrors.

Try to get an old DLP processor. I think that’d be really cool.

That’s what a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) is. It’s the MEMs device that powers Digital Light Processing.
