Thereās a bedframe that was first in the workshop for a month, then in the new workshop for a month and now has been in the āNew Ceramicsā area for a month.
Woodshop has all their used Jig saws and other equipment in the new space. Motorsports has a pile of stuff over there. Laser is storing their old Thunder over there. Logistics has a pile of shelving, a ton of Black plastic containers, and a bunch of plywood and 2 x 4s.
I did not say that we wanted to accept this project, but surely it could go in our new area long enough to get it covered and get a trailer underneath it. Sitting against the wall, it would take about 2ā x 4ā of floorspace.
My opinion is that the committee should vote on the decision and make a plan from there, but just to question it because I said it would fit in our new space does not seem like a balanced approach as I see people working on there most every eveningā¦
There is a difference between construction / pallet committee storage and personal projects.
These are going out for sale, and on pallets
as itās the only area they have, and on a pallet
a repair job, and on wheels
all on pallets, and for construction of the new logistics areas.
Storing personal projects, versus working on one and it leaving with them, is quite different.
This is the only item I canāt speak to the details of since I was not previously aware of it.
Thatās not on wheels nor a pallet. And by on wheels, that means it must be movable without a vehicle or a team of people.
We already know how the last time automotive did this ended and it sure as heck wonāt be tolerated again.
In response to my own ??? ā ???
I donāt see how pointing out all the other issues with improper storage makes this one instance any better. We will be dealing with those too as appropriate.
Regarding what is over in the new warehouse, Iām leaving the expansion team open to shuffle those items as they see fit.
Expansion Group Comments: Yes, DMS seems to be in a crunch for temporary space in the new warehouse area. As long as items are on wheels or on a pallet that can easily be moved around, it is okay with us. We will be having a lot of construction contractors in and out during the next few months. We need to be able to move stuff around as needed. I will not comment about who owns what, suggest a sign on each item identifying whose property it is.
I will be dealing with the member storage that has cropped up in the warehouse tonight.
