Davinci 1.0a available for repair or disposal

I replaced this machine, it has an X error, it seems to be dropping steps, maybe its the motor or controller board.
I will give this to the makerspace or by proxy anyone who has need for the thing.
I was intending to repair it, or send it back to the manufacture, but that was $150 fee and shipping for them to even open the box, so i never did.

its now in the back of my pickup subject to texas heat in a closed envornment until i can get it to the makerspace and become someone else’s problem, probably thursday.

Ken,

I have two of them. I’d love it for parts.

i cant drive to the space until Thursday, I can abandon it there or you can help me get the way too heavy box off the back of the truck.

Ken,

Do you live in Carrollton or somewhere I could save you the trouble of taking it to the space? Email me with your info at the hender99 at gmail.com address if you like and I’ll come get it unless you’re in Fort Worth or somewhere

Dan

no, rowlett, east of garland. I have other stuff i need to drop off at the space, that is the most convenient.

Ok. Let me know when you are going to be at DMS.

probably after 5 on Thursday, message 4695698783 when you are there and we can work that out. i come from downtown.

Will do. Thanks again.

If it’s still available I wouldn’t mind taking it on as a project as I’d never be able to get one otherwise. Understand its first come first serve but thought I’d throw my hat in the ring.

practically, and this is presumptuous on my part concerning coloneldan, it would be spare parts to him while it would be a primary to you, but it needs to be repaired all the same. that is between you.

it prints for about an inch up then it starts dropping steps

XYZ printers are needlessly moody machines.

He got in first, fair and square, if he decides to pass I’d love to come pick it up. If he does really want it, I can understand that too

Either way I’ve a pickup truck I can help move it, wherever it ends up

it can fit on a passenger seat of a car, though its the size of a mini fridge.

Gotcha, well I’ll wait for @coloneldan to weigh in on whether he’s taking it for parts or not and if not then I’ll gladly come pick it up whenever

I would definitely like the unit, but if @Pseudonym01 Jake wants it I’ll be happy to let him have it. We have two of these units and they are a little finicky so I wanted it for parts, but I’m also happy to give it to a fellow maker if he’s going to fix it as he’ll probably get more use from it. Be careful Jake they are very addictive.

Jake it is all yours.

Thanks Ken for offering it up for free. They cost over $500 new.

The goal is to get it fixed, thanks @coloneldan!

the goal is to get rid of it… once upon a time i wanted to repair it, now i want a square meter of my floor back. its time for it to go.
