Damage to my powdercoated part

Someone moved my powdercoated machine off a cart they wanted and damaged it. Please fess up if it was you. I was going to put another coat on it before taking it home and was waiting for powder I ordered to arrive. Now there’s a huge scratch in my base coat.

I hope that cart was worth it. I have no problem if someone needed to move it but did you have to damage it?

I’m not condoning bad behavior however I will call out that we may have too few carts these days and perhaps people using them for extended periods which takes them out of circulation. This week all 3 of Infrastructures carts were in use at the same time by members other than Infra volunteers.

Maybe we need a committee’s to procure a few more carts for their areas or educate members to only use them for movement of items.

Just buy carts. This is a general DMS problem. Don’t bother trying the committee route.

Also realize that that cart with my part was in the Powdercoating area. What if I just went into the woodshop, grabbed a cart with stuff on it, chucked it all on the floor and left? Is that cool with everyone? What about if I just start taking ceramics and moving them? How about damaging all the glue-ups that those woodshop people leave on tables? Is that ok? I use tables sometimes I needed that one with your crap on it.

It’s the principle. This bad behavior wasn’t by a committee chair, a board member, or anyone with authority (I know who it is by the way we have the means to figure out these things). This screw everyone else but me mentally needs to be called out publicly or it won’t stop.

Release your inner Dexter. You’ll feel much better.
And remember to use the same cart when you’re done.

Back in the day we had the same issue with cordless power tools and batteries. The BoD at the time bought thousands of dollars of tools and they slowly dwindled down over the nest year. Need to do the same with carts but you can only store so many.
