Current wide format status (Epson & HP)

I’d like to print a prototype game board (oh how lovely a single contiguous sheet of paper - rather than taped together pages - would be!). The current tool status shows the Epson wide format printer out of calibration, but I might give it a shot if it’s not awful. However, I saw an older thread on the HP DesignJet 1055cm Plus - which would be much better suited to this mostly line-art / text game board. Is this available for use yet? I’d be fine paying the Epson usage rates (which should more than cover costs, it seems) if that side of things hasn’t been sorted out - I’m just not sure if a separate training is going to be required, or if it’s even accessible from any computers. I’ve been trained on the Epson before though…

So, is HP usable? Is the calibration issue on the Epson significant enough to be ‘not worth trying’ until fixed? Thanks!

This is the first I’ve heard of the printer needing adjustment. It was
working fine last Wednesday when I saw it last. If you tryptophan it and
run into problems let me know. I suggest doing a small test print on letter
paper before running a big job to be on the safe side. The HP is currently
in the warehouse and isn’t in a position to be used. Soon, though

Thanks much. I’ve found the individual sheets of photo paper, but only see rolls of canvas in the shelves (there’s a roll of mactac vinyl loaded in it now). Are there any rolls of photo luster - or anything else non-canvas / white - somewhere?

If you tryptophan it. Nom nom nom.

We might need to deduct more than $1 for chewing on those supplies considering the cost of HP Ink

I’ve got built-in ‘auto-correct auto-correction’ … my mind translated tryptophan back to ‘try to use’

Steve - I still haven’t tried a test print on letter paper yet; if we don’t have any roll paper available then that would be a wasted print for me, since ultimately I’ve got to do a 20x20 print. I was basing the ‘calibration issues’ on the tool status page, which says it was updated on 5/27 with the degraded status. If it was working fine on last Wednesday (6/3) then hopefully that’s incorrect.

If you’d like me to run a test print anyway (or a forced cleaning cycle or anything), let me know - I just don’t want to do so unnecessarily. Otherwise, if I can find some roll paper I’ll do some test prints and update the tool status page if appropriate.

I didn’t get out there today due to equipment probs here with my own
printers. I will be there in the AM for sure tomorrow and will resolve all
back to normal working conditions with replenished supplies as needed.
