Current equipment status in woodshop? (1/18/17)

Based on the (potentially incomplete) threads here on Talk, the following pieces of woodshop equipment are less than fully functional:

Delta Table saw (degraded – blade won’t lower)
SawStop table saw (inoperable – brake triggered)
Laguna Bandsaw (inoperable – blade broken)
Delta bandsaw (degraded – blade dull)
Jointer (inoperable)

The camera appears to show a blade in the Laguna band saw now, but it’s a low resolution image so I can’t be sure.

If anyone would like to chime in on the status any of these, I will update the tool status board.

Thanks!

i was there yesterday and there’s a new brake on the sawstop. The delta does lower it’s just REALLY hard and takes two hands. Perhaps it just needs lube. It should be as smooth as the saw stop.

The saw blade on the Delta has always been really hard to lower. Not sure if that’s on that particular model of machine or that machine specifically but I remember the first time I used it I thought it was broken as well (this was over a year ago) and just gave it more oomph and it moved. Tried to find a nut to loosen like on my r4512 but nothing like that exists, it’s just really hard to move for whatever reason.

Do we know anything about what’s going on with the Jointer? I assume it’s the same as it ever was but when it might be online again? Also is it within the Woodshop’s ability to just get a new/another jointer? That one is clearly broken or defunct since it keeps breaking pretty much weekly.
