Just to give some background info for those who werent involved in the class or lab we began an experiment to alter genes within plants. A quote from @Josh_Melnick’s calendar description:

“My initial plan is to learn Plant Tissue Culture, then work with AgroBacterium and a reporter gene to prove efficacy of the technique, from there we can discuss possibilities for transgenic plants.”

We made a plant tissue culture this round and will wait another month to add AgroBacterium to alter the plants genetic make up. I believe after that we will use another technique to modify the change AgroBacterium caused to the plant. Correct me if I’m wrong Josh.

Hi, looks good, ebony.

Don’t know if it’s relevant, but my uncle knows a metric sh*t ton about growing orchids year-round. I had him up to the space two months ago and he loved it. He visits me often. I’m sure he would teach a class if I asked him to. Interested?

@JRay that sounds cool! We have a couple of gardeners around at the space who would be intersted in this class. I’ll send you some materials later today to help get you started.

I would take this class if it happened at a time where I could attend. Lol

Weird double post! Sorry

Fantastic! Growing orchids has a lot of interest from many skilled people up here.

I was planning on doing that myself, do you think other people are interested? We can do Orchid Tissue Culture?

Ya I would like to meet him, is he in the business?

Nah… just used to grow a bunch of them. I’ll ask him the next time I talk to him.
