I forgot to talk about the talking points we went over during the last meeting:
- Wood Bowl Show -small show- (changed to vessels of all sorts)
We talked about the next show July 1st - end of July - vessels will go up in the creative arts room. This will be on the smaller size and no big opening but if you have something you would like to be shown (we will probably limit the pieces) please let me know - it will only be on the two shelves - Trash to Frame -large show- August 1-31
A show based on reuse, scrap piles, garage sale treasures reimagined and reworked Nick Sainz is working on the poster for us other “areas to work on” - Maker-o-mat was discussed and a theme of art deco steampunk was adopted we are currently accepting submissions for designs. This is a cigarette vending machine that will disburse art - lots of work to make this into a working thing. But it’s going to be fantastic when complete. (more information later)
- People talked about classes - no stress/all mess art party, urban paper craft, new jewelry program and the glass program was discussed
- Merit badges were introduced - members who participated in the art show were given the first. Feel free to bring a sash, apron, hat, or anything else like leather chaps to display your awards.
- Mellissa Rhodes won the minute to win it badge which will be a silver unicorn - the hardest to merit badge of them all.
