Matt and the leather sewing machine - asking for $2500
KAI scissors that make Jorge drool
GA441 leather sewing machine, include a speed reducer and roller guide (essential for our intended use), as well as a set of narrow feet and I believe a different feed plate (flat vs curved). They also want to donate an electric cutter or a few pairs of scissors to the space (KAI scissors). They asked that with these donations, and future donations and price breaks, if they could have a banner of some kind put up in the sewing room (assuming we purchase their machine). I’m not sure what the policy is on banners or other such advertisements at the space.

Any chance we can see some of these new dye sub rules prior to the meeting?

Is proposing:

Dye Sub 101 prerequisite
Dye Sub only
Training Required

Just three “rules/understandings”

Specifically we were asked about doing fiberglass in the machine for the shop. It’s going to be just for the needs of dye sublimation.

I don’t have the powerpoint done yet but here’s where we are at for the next meeting - waiting to get the bookkeepers report for much of the money data. @Team_Creative_Arts

I will try to be there.
I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned on Monday when I was in. Sodas in the trash cans under the sewing tables. Sodas left on the bowling table. Took a putty knife and goo gone to the butcher block work tables for about an hour. Still not that clean.
I need to better understand plans for expansion. The place is busting at the seams, and acquisitions are not slowing. (New floor loom; want for a good printer.)

Did I see where the dye sub mug heat press died?
Will commit to reworking the sewing boxes again. They didn’t look that bad to me.
Oh, and that scanner. @talkers and I kept moving it around the room. Does it have a permanent home?

Excellent agenda listing!

Thank you for cleaning up the space.
Can you come in a bit before the meeting and I’ll explain the larger expansion plan if I have a spare minute from running around?
In short - the Shapeoko and the screen printing exposure unit are both going out of the room to new committees. We are going to be split into three rooms so all we can do is hang on for deal life right now until we get more space.

Inventory and a good cull will happen but I’m not sure when to put it in with all the holiday happenings. Never a dull moment right.

Please get with @MizGeek about the sewing boxes - she’s started the organization (forever ongoing)

I talked with Cary about the mug press yesterday - he’s working on getting a price for that one part that is broken

Scanner - I need to add that to the meeting as well to make a plan.

Not yet. Its going to go in the digital arts room with the vinyl, but we probably better find a good interim home for the meantime so it doesn’t get broken. I’ll be up there tonight for the Sewing SIG meeting and I’ll see if I can figure something out.

Can we find an appropriately sized box and put it on top of the tall cabinets maybe (like under one of the sewing dummies)?

I’d like to get it setup and working for everyone to use.

Then I have no idea. The computer workstations are already pretty full.

I know - everything is. I’m thinking we need to start building desk shelves

My suggestion for the digital room is going to be for us to get something like this. This guy is from IKEA and is a reasonable price

I guard my KAI scissors like they are my child. Most amazing scissors I’ve ever had.
I’ll be up there today before the Sewing SIG to check on the boxes. There should be a slip of paper in each one with a list of what SHOULD be in the box. It’s a never ending task.

After reading my own notes I see some issues I’ve altered a few things .

My mom has a set of smaller ones and has threatened violence if anyone uses them. My dad jokingly grabbed a pair and acted like he was going to cut plastic sheets with them. She started throwing the little sewing clips at him.

Mine are hidden in a box by my bed. Guarded at all times. :cat2:

I added comments.

I can! Thank you for offering.
