Hooray for makers!
Good for him.

Or a kind neighbor who tries to safeguard the “package”.
I was thinking the same thing, however per the definition it doesn’t inherently cause any bodily injury. I would hope he ran that by a ton of law enforcement agencies and lawyers first before marketing it.
If someone trips, falls, and injures themselves, unfortunately may get sued. I did notice one woman kept running with the box.
Loud noises have been known to injure and sometimes kill people with heart trouble.
Small children have been known to be curious. And, below a certain level of maturity, fail to understand “mine” versus “not mine”. I assume a shotgun shell detonating in close proximity to a child’s face is likely to severely traumatize the child.
Hearing damage is bodily injury.
Given the fact that someone (e.g. a child) could open the box then fiddle with the shells resulting in direct contact when a shell detonates the claim " it doesn’t inherently cause any bodily injury" is bullshit.
His running it by law enforcement / lawyer is irrelevant. The person using the device is the responsible party.
rigged with fishing wire and a 12-gauge…
No. That is a federal level Felony. That kind of stuff is un-excellent.
But is injury “Foreseeable” under tort law, since his video shows people tripping it is more than foreseeable it is highly likely.
Also this thing holds 12 ga shells, I can see someone “Upping the effectiveness” with a loaded shell.
Intent vs. Impact. I wasn’t disagreeing with you on the basis on the product being a bad idea, but more the definition of a booby trap. The product wont last as he gets sued, and the language wasn’t necessary.
Thanks, this was a good reminder me not to engage in conversation here anymore.
I apologize for the misunderstanding and thank you for clarifying.
Just needs to be a ear piercing piezo screamer. Kinda like the locators we used on high power rockets to find them from a mile away.
