Cookie question

Do cookies really need to be bisque fired?
I could see the different shrinkage rates being an issue but no more so than reusing cookies after glaze firings.

I would say we should bisque fire first.
If cookies are allowed in a glaze firing without being bisqued first, then that opens it up to “why can’t I put other stuff in for a one step firing then”.

Wait so we shouldn’t bisque cookies?

That is not what i meant. It was meant to say why we shouldn’t put them in a glaze firing without bisque firing them first. Yes of course you should bisque fire your cookies. I edited my response. Is that better?

Just trying to make sure I follow the rules :+1:t3:

A little more info here, unfired clay will gas out during firing. The cookie should be fired first. The gassing out can/ maybe / might affect glaze color.
