The computer for the Lasersaur is a newer machine now and it has Windows installed. Use your DMS account to login. When done with it please log off so the next user can login with their own account. If you are unable to login try resetting your password for DMS using the link below.

In the future I’m looking at getting Adobe Creative Cloud for both laser computers and eventually requiring the DMS domain login on the computer for the Full Spectrum Laser like the Lasersaur is setup. Aldo please don’t store anything on the Lasersaur computer since it has less than 100GB of space on the machine, use the file server to store things. Thanks!

Dumb question time did you install inkscape.91 on it?
Yes, also FreeCAD and LibreCAD. If you have other suggestions let me know.
On the one hand I like the idea of having Creative Cloud available from the laser computers (since (a) I’m a person who uses that software and (b) it’s not available in many places at the Space). On the other hand, we already have some members who are selfish about using those computers to design their parts while others wait to use the lasers. I am concerned that having Creative Cloud on those machines may exacerbate that problem.
Anyone have any ideas about this?

I was thinking the same thing.
The 3d fab committee decided to move “design” to the multipurpose room with the long tables, and keep the 3d printer computers only for “slice and print” activities.
Maybe we can have the computer on the table against the wall.
On the other hand
you could be just tweaking your file for cutting and someone slips in and starts using the laser… not so excellent…
tough call.
If people bring Illustrator files or Photoshop files for laser cutting it helps to have the software on the computer. The intention has never been to allow people to design things on the machines.
