Hi, I’m considering joining the makerspace and doing some composite layups ( carbon fiber and fiberglass ). Is there a curing oven available or on the wish list?
At this time we do not have composite curing oven. We do have a powder coating oven.
Short answer yes, the powder coating oven in metalshop.
The reason I got that powder coating oven was to cure carbon fiber in, the heating is even and the temperature is highly controlled, there is a port at the upper right to hang vacuum hoses out of.
You will have to use an out of autoclave material though. It is also good for speeding up the cure time of infused parts as well.
