I read in a document on the blacksmithing committee drive that we had a collection of different steels which we could use to demonstrate their particular spark pattern, which of course, can be used to identify “junkyard” steel type. Have we actually created such a group of steels? We have such a group of steels at Brookhaven blacksmithing and it has proven useful to help identify a particular “rescued steel” type. I think it would be particularly cool to use a small piece of the wrought iron to spark test since most places don’t have access to it.
