Our coffee table had a few shortcomings so I modified it. We wanted it higher and we wanted a laptop storage shelf and we wanted to stabilize one of the legs which was loose all the time. Much of the rough cuts and shaping was done at Dallas Maker Space. The legs started out as a rough cut 8 ft piece of 3x5 maple. The shelf is furniture grade birch plywood with pine veneer edging. Assembly was 2 construction screws through each leg and a pocket screw bottom up to hold on the shelf.
