Cnc sherline class this Saturday 2-4pm

Hi all. I posted a class for the CNC Sherline lathe. The course materials are on the Machine Shop committee drive under sherline CNC training. The class will post tomorrow on the calendar. Prerequisite is the colchester course. I am really just looking for folks who have used CAM software and are familiar with lathe operation. If you intend on signing up, please download the pawn fusion 360 file and the presentation fIle and work through the cam on your own before the class. I intend on having more classes in the future depending on interest so don’t worry if you can’t make this one. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply. During this course I will run through the making of the pawn (takes over 1 hour to run)

Does this CAM work well without the Rapids? Or will we end up running CAM from a paid copy of fusion?

Right now its without rapids but I would be more than willing to let someone with a paid copy of fusion to run the post so that we can speed up the machine time.

PM me and let me know how I can help with that. I have a subscription copy of Fusion.

When I try to open the Fusion file from the committee drive, I get an error. Says the file is corrupted. (Never mind).

@Mrholthaus - What post processor should I use in order to post this for you? Do you need a separate file for each tool? I see T2 and T4 in the setups.

Also, I can’t find the presentation on the committee drive. Can you point me to it? Thanks.

The post processor is on the commitee drive. But the fusion file shouldnt have the completed cam(I might have saved the wrong file). I have the file with the full cam saved elsewhere. I would rather you use my file for the post so I know the cam is right. Also yes, a separate file per tool is preferred. The presentation should be in the same file. I will look in again when I am at dms in 1-2hours

Well, the copy I downloaded surely seems to have the completed CAM.

Kmotion.cps for the post?

I’m relatively certain on that. There should be also a tool library IIRC

Yes, there is also a tool library.

I sent you a PM.

Will a board member please post my class to the calendar? It’s been over 48 hours

The policy is

" * Classes take at least 48 hours, and may take as long as 72 hours to POST to the calendar once they are submitted by the teacher. This should be taken into account when classes are mentioned on Talk as having been submitted: they will take 2-3 days to appear on the calendar."

It should post in 48 hrs since he is forgoing the Honorarium.
