CNC Plasma update

Yep, I notified everyone that is signed up for Sunday’s class. It was full, so no one could sign up, but I’ll cancel it on the calendar. I’ll send out email to those in next Sunday’s 9/30 class, and then cancel it too.

Fan is going back up.

Btw, my camera lens is broke, reason for the orb

Just curious, what are the specs on that fan?

I don’t recall, 3,200 cfm or close to it. I’d have to pull the fan curve to see.

Duct work is now in. BTW that stuff is 16ft in the air, it doesn’t look like it but it is. The Machine looks like it will be in on Thursday, not set it stone but I was able to use the 3rd party tracking number.

Over the past few days, there has been quite a few folks that have helped. The ceiling grid & tile still needs to be finished. A few tiles broke, so those will have to be replaced. Debating on whether or not to just do that tomorrow or not.

Let us know if you plan to work on the ceiling grid, and I should be able to come by.

Lol, guess I should have checked Talk. Ceiling is back up. 1 fixture is being rather finicky.

Showing out for delivery. I’m heading to the space now. They did not give a direct time of delivery but it is a large crate.

I’ll be there after I get out of work.

Tim did we double check the consumables? Might want to grab some from Metro if possible so we have some for testing on hand.

Looking at the Hypertherm page, it looks like the current consumables will also fit just need to keep the current settings at or below what the electrode and nozzle can run at.
Can I assume that the new head is Ohmic so we can enable Z tracking ?

yeah this was what I expected but I hadn’t confirmed it. The new torch is 85A, so as long as you keep it lower it should be fine.

The new machine takes the same consumables as the previous. It is also ohmic for the initial height controls.
Good bye old machine.

Hello new

Anyone happen to have a crash cart for our new plasma PC? The existing one I feel takes up too much room.

Looks amazing! Thanks Tim and the crew that was up/down on ladders!

Many thanks for the loan of the machine we had many years of use and learning on.

I hope he doesn’t mind my mentioning that I think I remember @richmeyer has offered some before, I think. Of course, his supply of “media carts” may be tapped out…

Should we be shopping a standing cart, more like this?

I like this one.

Hate the price…

I would say something a little more line this, easier to clean etc: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Adjustable-Workstation-CART-PC02T/dp/B07D1HWW2R/ref=sr_1_33_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1538142925&sr=8-33-spons&keywords=computer+crash+cart&psc=1
