CNC MDF Job for commission

I am a DMS member working on a project that requires a quick turnaround on a part CNCed from MDF. I unfortunately am not certified for woodshop cnc use, and I need the part faster than I think training would take.

The part that I would need cut is the backing board for a plinko board. The part is ~3’x5’ out of 3/4" mdf. The only operations I would need cut are ~100 drilled holes and the profile of the board.

I ideally would be able to have the part by next Tuesday 12/13. I can buy/transport the mdf to the DMS and would be willing to pay a rush fee.

Disclaimer: I am waiting to hear a final approval sometime today for a greenlight on the project and need to create the model of the board, so it’s not a 100% yet. This inquiry is me planning ahead and seeing if this is an option to produce the part.

If you want to do it on Saturday I’ll help you knock it out. No need for payment. I’ll want you to buy an appropriate upcut bit(s) for your holes. I’d suggest a Whiteside or Amana and can help you source (Amazon is generally an okay source and Woodcraft can be).

Amazing!

If I also wanted to get a ~1/4-1/2" countersink should I get any other bits? Also to bore out a ~2in through hole?

If you really mean countersink (an angled cut) then you’ll need a V bit with the proper angle. If you mean counterbore, then no, a straight bit will be fine.

Your 2” hole can be done with a straight bit.

Best to design your file in some 3D software (VCarve should be fine) and with that, I can help you spec your bits.

I sent you a couple DM’s!
