Clean Up After Yourself

To whomever used the track saw last, clean up after yourself. You used the track saw on a big epoxy table and didn’t use dust collection, nor did you clean the tool and put it back properly. The saw would even properly retract (which is a safety concern) because of the amount of shit and debris jammed up in there. Other members should not have to come behind you and disassemble a tool in order to be able to use it. Figure it out.

Are you sure that was epoxy and not fiberglass?

Almost positive. Had a blueish hue to it and felt like epoxy shavings. That’s being said, I’ve never pushed fiberglass through a saw.

Either way, still should have been cleaned after use.

I noted this when in progress and made a specific comment about hooking up the Festool dust collector unit which was sitting nearby. Unclear if unit was functional or not, but I assume it was (I’ve not seen any issues reported here). This was about 8p.m. or so on Sunday on a work table by the Slab Mill. That was a few days ago so it’s possible there may have been some intervening activity with the saw that accounts for this, but if that was area the track saw was found, then this probably accounts for it.

To their credit, they: 1) were wearing good dust protection masks (although anyone else in area would have had an issue breathing! which is why I butted in); and 2) cleaned up the floor and table pretty well when they were done.

Clean up a tool tool and put it back where it belongs? Is this really expected?

Dream on!

I do like your idea though.
