Hello to all my clay peeps!
We have several new members working on clay in Fired Arts, which is great, but that also means that we have some folks who may not know some general rules about working at Dallas Makerspace.
When working with clay, please try to work on the canvas table in Fired Arts, or one of the tables in the open work areas. There are several tables in the shop that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you work on clay on a table in an open work area, please cover the table. We have table clothes just for that purpose. We also have canvas covered work boards to the left of the metal shelves. We want to be respectful of those who will use the tables after us, and not leave a mess.
Please do not use tables in the other committee areas to work on clay, as tempting as it may be to find an open space. Those areas are dedicated to people working on projects in those subject areas. Much like we wouldn’t appreciate someone using the canvas table to repair engine parts, other areas, such as machine shop/small metals/Vector/Science, wouldn’t appreciate haven’t to clean clay off their tables before they can work.
Also, please do your best to clean the canvas table, the wheels, and the floor after using Fired Arts. We have a mop and mop bucket, sponges, and brushes available for just that purpose.
Let’s be good neighbors to our fellow committees, and do our best to keep Fired Arts a clean and pleasant space to work in.
Thanks,
Nathan
