Classroom Committee Update - Meeting 2017.11.22

Recently completed items:
TVs
- Malfunctioning Vizio exchanged. No problem at Costco. Thanks Stan for helping
- 75” Vizios installed on South Wall of Interactive. Thank you Evan, Bill, and Art
- 15’ HDMI cables attached
- 10’ HDMI cable to HDMI Splitter. This allows broadcasting to both screens
- 65” Vizio from Interactive moved to Purple and mounted. Thank you Brian Terry and Joe King
- 50” Samsung from Purple installed on CrashCart
Crash Cart. This is now avail for Science, Jewelry and other committees to use as needed.
- TV installed
- Computer updated
- 15’ HDMI cable attached.
Additional Remotes for Vizio and Samsung obtained. Thank you @StanSimmons .
Power strips with 5 outlets/3 USB ports obtained. Thank you @Diplomat .
Seminar Tables. 12 new ones for Lecture Hall. 4 more for Digital Media. (Thank you Steve)
Particle board with synthetic wood grain will go away after Dec 10 Maker Maker Faire
Two plastic tables will be retained. Others avail to good home after Maker Maker Faire.
Blue Bulletin Board free to good home (by Member Exchange Shelf)
3 Rolling White Boards donated. Only one or 2 of the remaining ones will be kept. Goal is to install fixed boards in the classrooms. Rolling whiteboards will have a fixed mounted board instead of the interchange boards.
Next up:
TVs:
- 65” Vizio from Interactive to go to Creative Arts
- 42” Element from Creative Arts to go to Conference Room
- Inventory and label all adapters. Identify missing one
- Order 2 HDMI - USB-C cables (tasked @AlexRhodes)
Crash Cart:
- Test computer, esp Open Broadcasting Software
- Add webcam\document camera
- Document use.
Flooring: Focus on Interactive
- Obtain quotes. Already have some from Lumber Liquidators. Need 3 more. Home Depot, Lowes, Floor & Decor most likely.
- Floor will be waterproof. Floor will have lifetime warranty, or near lifetime warranty. Floor will be professionally installed.
Purple Classroom:
- Window insulation. Reflective Thermal Barrier (removeable). Cell shade. *Robin will investigate source and pricing.
- Tables. Refresh the IKEA tables. Either replace the tops or make tops. Use the existing legs.
Conference Room:
- Needs better whiteboard.
- Furniture needed
- Mount TV
Chairs: Dollies needed for both types of chairs in Interactive/Purple and in Lecture Hall. @engpin Jayson Woods investigating.

- Make accessible, visible.

- Fancy Edge lit Glass with reflective markers. +Brian Terry and Coul Mullen investigating.

Open Discussion Items
- Set up fixed floorplans instructors should leave the rooms in (mainly Purple and Lecture). Current process is Instructors are responsible for setting up room as needed. Debate:
- Pro: Looks nicer
- Pro: saves time for instructors
- Cons: Rooms are used in various layouts. High likelihood it will be in the wrong layout, regardless of layout chosen.
- Calendar System. Need a team meeting to discuss current maintenance, teams working on improvements, requirements gathering and analysis. New SW committee will help with this.
- Calendar System. Pulling data to provide more information on classes, instructors,student needs. Successes, classes needed, projected honorarium costs…
- Honorariums and Honorarium Committee.
- Fans for rooms. Most likely ceiling fans. Scissor Jack would be required to install. Timeline February.
