Jim, one common theme of confusion is the thought that VCarve and the Multicam are connected. They are not. VCarve, Fusion 360, etc. are CAD/CAM programs that generate gcode files.
The Multicam interaction is simply to “upload” the gcode file and follow the instructions it gives. There is NO communication between VCarve and the Multicam. It’s more like a spy movie … one party, VCarve, makes a package (gcode file) and deposits it in a dead drop (a network file folder) and the second party (Job Server within the Multicam Suite) picks up the package and takes to the Multicam machining programs to be used.
