Cheap pinball finds - discussion thread for new projects

Cool Back Glass,
I’never played this one, but Ball Sport game themes have often been solid choices when it comes to a pinball machine.

Yep… went quickly. Figured it would.

I just saw this really cheap EM project game. It will not last long at this price. Looks to be in really nice shape for it’s age and should not need a huge amount of restoration. Great starter pin for someone on a limited budget.

Gottlieb MAGNOTRON pinball machine - $150 (Mansfield)

This is a Gottlieb MAGNOTRON pinball machine. It was made in 1974. It
powers up and lights up. I cannot get a game started. I don’t know how
to fix it. It is missing the legs. Pickup in Mansfield behind Legacy
High School.

I know a guy with a Bally Flip-Flop. Backglass is good, has had some mechanical refurb done, has a set of replacement play field plastics, needs additional work until it’s playable. Ask Jayson Woods if you want to see it. Will sell for a ridiculously low price.

Is that a System 80 machine?

Edit: nevermind, it’s system 1. I would imagine they are easier to restore than an EM?

I hear you’d better brush up on your electronics repair skizzles on most solid state machines.

Not if the battery roached the CPU board.

Mary is lucky with that pin. My Close Encounters was toast and I put the PI-1X4 board in it. It took 2 weeks to get it from France but DAMN that’s an awesome board.
