Cheap pinball finds - discussion thread for new projects

Backglass and playfield look decent, but as Nick mentioned, a bit more potential caveats than I’d recommend. Also, in my opinion, the geometry doesn’t look like a winner. I’d pass on it.

Both good finds. I was actually first in line for Swinger, but didn’t find anyone who wanted it in time. Had to pass. It’s gone now.

Pro-Football for $400 is worth it. Fun game.

1971 Williams Gold Rush - $150

Very nice deal. Good game. Hurry.

1975 Gottlieb Super Soccer - $100

http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/vgm/5066396831.html
Looks in very rough shape, and a bit of a haul to grab it ( a bit west of Oklahoma City)
but might be worth it as a parts donor…

Too much of a drive for a parts donor methinks.

1974 Williams Strato Flite - $600

http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/tag/5128789257.html

Possible if you like the layout and graphics, but likely very $$$ to repair due to major issues with backglass
paint cracking/peeling, and stated issues about repeated clicking after power up. Advise thorough inspection before purchase.

1975 Bally Hokus Pokus - $300

Looks like a good machine @nickdangerous.

If your looking to purchase this machine, I would suggest that you ask for a picture of the backside of the back glass, it tells the real truth on these machines. Looks like a fun layout and as it isn’t working, make sure you take a look inside when you go to pick it up. Look for bunches of new wire or separated wires. Most of the time cleaning and a little work is all these need to run. But, if there are a lot of bad fixes, the work will often be much harder.

1977 Stern “Rawhide” - $350

http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/spo/5150503102.html

Price and condition look good, but I wouldn’t recommend it because Rawhide is a Chicago Coin EM which Stern acquired during their purchase of the company. The reels use card-edge connectors which are prone to failure and are very time consuming to replace.

1960 Gottlieb Wagon Train - $300

1978 Williams Toledo - $350
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/tad/5201111408.html

Backglass is pretty bad on that Wagon Train… too much to touch up. Would have to be repro’ed.

Toledo glass and playfield look good (but need a closer look). However, the cabinet art has been painted over. Might/might not be recoverable.
