Ceramics Kiln News - October 2022

Now is the time to create and finish up your Christmas items!!

Remember to follow this thread and pick up your items ASAP. If your piece has a star in it, the item is being marked for our 30-day guideline, please put the stars back in the little glass dish on the shelf.

We are very busy, the shelves are very full, and the Holidays are coming! So…we would appreciate you picking your pieces up and taking them home with you if you are unable to complete your next step same day. There is no personal storage on our shelves or in the space, we have too many people for that to work for our community.

Thank you and happy making!

What are the dark blue oval plates with the rings toward one end?

These were made by @amy_er

I’m so sorry I accidentally nicked this piece while looking for mine! Wasn’t sure what to post this under but hopefully the creator can find this. Again, so sorry about this!

Thank you for posting! A note by the piece with how to contact you is also a great way to let folks know.

So I asked, and those are pen holders for quill and ink.

I was going to guess that they were for stick incense.

Better than my guess…I was thinking bottom for a gravy boat or a utensil plate with built in napkin ring. or worse yet…individual platter to go under your soup bowl with the ring for your Olive Garden breadstick…but alas - what horrible host would make such a dish then only serve you ONE breadstick - that’s criminal.

Bisque unloaded. Please come get your lovelies

Glaze unloaded. Please note we have one kiln out of service (glaze) so items will take a while to be fired.

I apologize to whoever had the adorable candy cane and mugs, asI set in on the kiln shelf it was enough of a jostle to pop one candy cane off! I’ve left a note if you need to reach me/have questions.

Bisque unloaded! I forgot to take a picture of the first ones that came out so I took a picture of those pieces on the shelf.

These tea pots came out with one of each of their feet still on the kiln shelf, but I placed them and their feet together so hopefully they can be mended.

This lil guy stuck on his cookie-
