Amazing deal on 2 palettes of molds
That is crazy, wonder what kinds of molds they are.
Molds for slip casting can be fun, but I’ve been avoiding them for the space. It would be good to have a few basic molds: a plate, a cup, a bowl; but it can very quickly become an obsession to collect all the molds.
And space consuming.
I have a few at home I should bring up. It would be a nice option to have a class on decorating slip cast greenware. But stress on the “few”. lol
Nathan and I have talked about casting at DMS. For the few that don’t know the issues, you can really only cast 2 or maybe 3 items in a mold before you need to let it dry out. So a class would probably require about 1 or 2 molds per person in the classes to really get a good learning experience. Also, the decorating class Nathan is talking about would require quite a bit of work to get enough pieces together for everyone to have good pieces to decorate.
That all being said, I wouldn’t put it past @Nathan_Jones to do it. He is awesome like that. PS if he needed help, he would just have to yell at me and I would try and make time. Your rocking the pottery Nathan!
No - just say no to this idea.
Thanks for keeping me strong, Nicole!
Shhhhhhh, you need to make an endless variety of worthless ceramic boo bobs.
