There is a diamond grinding wheel to take the glaze drip off. Looks like we need to add 5 more minutes to make it a true 6.
Also there is kiln wash in the bucket by the shelves.
Just looking at the cones I’d say it was pretty close to what we want. Maybe some additional hold (5-10 minutes maybe) would get us closer to cone 6, we would have to try it to know. Most of our glazes want cone 6, I’m guessing maybe 25 -30% say cone 5 or 6 so I feel a little better being under cone 6 than being over it. How does everyone feel about adding more time to the hold or leave it and continue to monitor it and see if our results are acceptable?
Mayco performs better at 6 usually.
Adjusted the DMS Glaze and DMS Bisque programs in the Skutt 1222 per test firing results and discussions. (3 hour hold for pre soak bisque, added 5 minutes to glaze hold).
Also on the 1027 to keep it consistent, still needs to be test fired though, may need to be adjusted depending on how that kiln fires.
Thanks Anette. I should have hung around to see how you did that
Sure, I’m sure there will be more chances, lol
The cones look pretty good. let’s not make any more changes until after we have made several runs to be sure we are getting the results we want.
I second that!!
