The goal is zero. It’s not like the FDA recommends a daily amount. Both extremely toxic.
Given the potential to produce toxic gas and the potential to start a fire, a CO alarm near the laser cutters seems like a good idea to me. Thoughts? Opinions?
I suspect that the large volume of air, plus the airflow of the area, would prevent CO from building up in that area. Also, it’s right by a door that’s used fairly often.
Now, a thermal IR camera pointed at the laser cutter and hooked up to a fire alarm would seem like a worthwhile idea to me…
If I am looking at that table corectly, the limits for HCN are roughly 10x higher than chlorine, and PVC releases a lot more chlorine when cut than ABS appears to release HCN.
