Just as a curiosity, can people still register for a class after the cancellation deadline? That might influence how I set my cancellation deadline.
My understanding is that no-one can register after the cancellation deadline, because otherwise they would not be able to cancel. I am tagging @Team_Calendar to get a definitive answer. Thanks!
FWIW, other registration tools I’ve encountered over time have allowed registration after a cancellation cut-off date/deadline, they just informed the user that they will not be able to cancel and get a refund and make them click “OK” or “accept” or whatever.
Seems like a pretty straightforward way to go about this…
This feature is meant for people who have to buy things for a class before hand. What would suck is if you had 10 people sign up and you go and buy $100 worth of supplies and then 5 people cancel the day before leaving the instructor holding the bag on the supplies. Similarly they thought only 5 people were going to sign up but the day before 5 more signed up, the instructor might not have time now to get the extra supplies.
Hope that gives enough reasoning as to the way it is. If we need to change it we can look at that in the future.
How will that work after the 20 minute window for walk-in registrations is implemented?
It does not affect that. If you set the cancelation window to anything other than zero that over rides the extension. Not entirely sure how the logic would be to allow people to sign up if the cancelation window is set. Cancellation window is supposed to be used with there is a lead time needed for supplies and such.
