This question is mostly borne out of my ignorance of the subtleties of the maintenance rules we have around the Polyprinters.
In addition to the other problems we have with the fleet right now, I’ve noticed that most of the printers’ monitoring cameras are being held on with tape or are simply hanging from their cables or missing.
If I were to print up some brackets to get the cameras properly mounted back onto the doors, would I be allowed to install them?

Sounds like a plan.
Always welcome new design ideas! But just to let you know, we are replacing the fronts of all the PolyPrinters, so they should all have good and working original mounts. With that said, the would be a good place to attach a better camera mount. As @engpin said, bring your best ideas to our next meeting, the first Sunday of every month, this time Sunday Oct. 6 at 1:00 PM in the Lecture Hall.
