Will anyone be at the space tomorrow (Friday) mid afternoon who can help me fix a broken weld on a cheap costume sword? A friend is in town and brought it to see if I could fix.
You should be able to use epoxy for that as well.
Clean the surfaces and do a final surface preparation by rubbing down the mating surfaces with acetone to get rid of residual oils, etc.
Let dry thoroughly before applying epoxy.
Unless you really need it to be welded.
I’m worried epoxy will break over time. Yes it’s a costume piece, but it’s blade heavy and people are going to handle it by grabbing the handle and holding in up.
zmetzing (screen name) - offer him dark beer as a trade. He teaches the Plasma cam class too… His wife( she is French) as has taken some of your classes. Very good people.

Brazing will produce a strong joint especially with dissimilar metals and you are less likely to melt the base metals.
Thanks to all who have responded, I have received a PM with an offer to help me take care of it!
