Caltech creates 70 TFPS Camera

Any bets on the cost of this beast?

If it’s like other similar cameras then it doesn’t actually take that many frames per second. It repeats an event thousands of times and takes a photo slightly later each time (like a trillionith of a second later). Still cool but not the same as something like a high speed video camera that records a real-time event instead of the same event repeated many times.

Edit: And I’ll take two of them!

Looks like this is able to capture single events, without needing repetition.

They’ve used the previous 1 Tfps camera to film light interacting with surfaces and seeing around corners, it’s pretty cool stuff.
